Where You Stand
Your relationship with the mushroom
Before you plan where you're going, honor where you are. There is no "behind" or "ahead" in this practice — only the unfolding of reconnection with yourself.
How would you describe your experience with the mushroom?
When did you last commune?
What's the highest dose you've worked with?
II.
Listening to Your Body
Sensitivity, health, and current state
Your body is the temple where this practice lives. Be honest about what it is asking for in this season — gentleness, depth, repair, or expansion all have their place.
How sensitive are you to substances generally?
Coffee, alcohol, medications, herbs — does a small amount affect you noticeably?
How would you describe your nervous system right now?
Do any of these apply to you?
Check any that are true. These are not failures — they are simply important to bring forward in conversation with your program facilitator before beginning.
III.
Designing Your Container
When your week opens for practice
Different doses ask for different containers. Below you'll map your week twice: first for windows where you have only light, low-stakes responsibility (suitable for sub-perceptual through 0.50g); then for windows where you have no responsibility at all (required for sessions 0.50g and above). Map your real life as it is, not as you wish it to be.
Map your week — Part One: Light-responsibility windows
For sub-perceptual and lower-dose sessions under 0.50g : 1–3 hours where you have light, low-stakes responsibility — being home with kids, gentle housework, cooking, time with a partner — but not work, driving, important calls, or anything requiring sharp cognitive focus.
Map your week — Part Two: Fully-cleared windows
For sessions 0.50g and above : 3–6 hour windows where you have no responsibilities at all — no work, no driving, no children needing direct care, no appointments. These are sacred-container windows. Mark only days where this is honestly possible.
Across both maps, aim for at least 3 days throughout your week, spread out so you can honor at least one full rest day between communions. For example: Monday, Wednesday, Friday — or Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday. Adjacent days like Saturday + Sunday alone won't allow for the rest-day rhythm this practice asks for.
Within your fully-cleared windows, what's the longest uninterrupted span you can typically hold?
This shapes your capacity for higher doses. Light-responsibility windows can be shorter (1–3 hours); cleared windows for threshold work need to be longer.

Your Calling
Why this practice, why now
Intention is the third step of every communion. Begin practicing it here, before the mushroom ever touches your tongue. The clearer your why, the steadier your path.
What is calling you to subtle practice with the mushroom in this season?
Write freely. There are no wrong answers.
V.
Holding the Practice
Support and integration
Integration is the fourth step, and the place where most of the mushroom's teaching is actually received. The strength of your integration practice shapes what's possible.
Do you have a regular journaling or reflection practice?
Do you have someone you can speak with about your practice?
A reflection partner, mentor, therapist, or trusted spiritual friend
How will you anchor this practice in your daily life?
What rhythms or rituals will hold you between sessions?
